OEM axle identify question

in 87 there were only 2 axles in the rear of an XJ right? the D35 and D44? ....

So to tell them apart, the D35 has an oval rear cover gasket with 10 bolt heads and the D44 has a "squared off egg" shape rear cover gasket with 10 bolt heads?

lemme know if I'm wrong here not that I need another excuse to look at my GF's rear end but I need to know what her truck has in order to order gears and TAD's
