LT235/85R16 tires anyone?

With a moderate 2-3" lift it would seem that LT235/85R16 or LT245/75R16 tires would tuck into the wheel wheel rather nicely with some steel 16x7 rims?

What do y'all think?

The calculation for these tires turn out to be about a 32-10.50. Some end up taller, but usually 235s do not end up shorter than 32". On your standard uncut XJ, you'd need a 4-5" lift to clear these tires. With 245s, we are still talking about the same hight, just a little wider. 3.5" of lift and trimming might get you there, but I'd go for at least 4"

32x9 hoss...

We run them on our 2000 LR DISCO and a clients '99 XJ with the RE 4.5 Kit (5.5 of lift all around with a .75" spacer up front)

You will need to trim with only 3.5" of lift (front bumper and rear endcaps....may hit the LCA's as well.

Here's his on the left and mine on the right (I have 32x9.5 TSL's)

Also keep in mind that the load rating on the 235/85/16's tens to be higher (c or d) so they ride a lil stiffer.

I put 255/70-16 Dunlop Rover RVs on my wife's ZJ and found that an LT 245/75-16 Goodyear that I had was the perfect size for a spare. I just went to the garage and compared to the 31x10.50-15 BFG ATs(that I'm trying to sell BTW), the 245s were about 1/2" shorter and 3/4" narrower. The BFGs did rub in the back a little at 2.5" of lift.

Maybe I should just stick with 30x9.50R15's or Swamper Radial 31x9.50R15's with a budget boost

I was running 265/75/16's(32x10.5) on my factory alloys(16x7 w/5"bs).I was wanting some steel wheels 16x7 w/4.5"bs but I couldnt even find any(except custom made at $125ea).I also was looking for a 33x10.5 in a sixteen and theres not much there either.I ended up just going to 15's and lots of selection!
