Weird no start issue

Alright so I was bleeding the brakes on my 98 Cherokee sport automatic and when I went to start it up after finishing the brakes it would not start. The engine cranks but no start and also no spark. Also I am getting p1698 code now. What's really strange is my gauges aren't working either but if I push in my brake pedal the gauges come on. I'm so lost right now... Any help is appreciated.

strange electrical problem... I would check all grounds and fuses to begin with. After that I would visually inspect all wires and sensors near where I was working on the brakes.

Sounds reminiscent of this thread: http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1119334

And this thread: http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1096349

Do you have fuel pressure gauge? Any idea whether the pump is running or not? And if so when and when not?

Thanks for posting those threads I will have to go through and see what fixed it for them. Also I noticed that my fuel pump isn't priming when the key is in the on position. I did read that if the cps is bad/short circuited it can mess with the connection with the PCM, and I did just replace the cps with a cheap one so maybe that's part of my problem.

I don't think anyone has posted a solution in either of those threads.

If you figure it out please do post it. Maybe here and in both of those too.
