Shock question.

Hey guys i need to get front shock for my jeep. I have nothing to really flex it out to its max. The static length from the top Mount to the axle is 23 inches. I was looking at shocks for 4-6 inches but max down travel is 26 on the shocks. And I should be 6 inch in the front of my jeep.

can you measure full droop?

jack the rear up by the diff, put jack stands under the frame in front of the spring hangers, then let the diff hang (you may have to take off the tires).i would get shocks that measure ~0.5" longer than the measurement at full droop, and then bump stop accordingly.

i would recommend 5100 or 5125s for most applications. if those are too pricey for you, BDS makes a decent budget shock.
