A guy has a 93 for sale here, wrecked on the front end. Says he left the hood open and it rained and now it won't start? Says the computer got wet? I've got a 96 with a fried piston, could I buy his and use my computer or no?

Also the computers are sealed and its very very unlikely that it getting rained on caused it to go bad. so my guess would be that there is some other issue with the 93. If it was wrecked on the front see if the impact forced anything into the crank pulley which may be a bad sign, try jumping the 93 (maybe a dead battery) or at least spin the crank manually to make sure the engine rotates before buying it.

93 is OBDI
96 is OBDII

if the 93 is dead and it had an impact in the front, I'd suspect that the battery wiring is damaged, or the main fuses popped because of a short.

Jump the starter directly to 12V to see if the motor spins.
