89 xj steering box

I'm in need of a steering box for an 89 cherokee. I'm not looking for anything special just a used unit. I found a few rolled xj's locally that are getting parted but my question is: will all xj steering boxes fit my 89? Or what is the year range that I should look for?

Its an 89 4.0 auto 4x4.

Any year will fit but the ratio changed in the later models. I think the change was around 93. I like the stiffer feel of the later box.

Thanks. I'm looking at one from a 92 or 93. Don't remember exactly. I also saw another from a 97. I'm just putting it on there and placing it for sale so don't really care too much what box goes in as long as it works.
