Replace Door Weather Stripping

Its very simple,,,, Remove trim from around door ,includes kick panel,at carpet and between front&rear doors, sholderbelt anchor bolt, ect.Pull old weather stripping out of channel....watch for still tacky factory glue. put new weatherstrip in chanel, smooth around bends, cut to legnth at door bottom.
There is one screw at the top of the dash that requires removal with a very long, very thin screwdriver....that one screw took longer to remove that the rest of the job..

Anyone happen to know why they list different door weather seal for the 97-01 XJ's? Is there any difference in the seal on pre 97's? I can't even find a place that lists a door seal for the 97-01

Thanks,
Chadd

The 97-01 door seals are thicker and seal up against the door frame and fill up gaps better.

That's so that there'll be less wind (whistling) noise, and there'll be less of a chance of water
getting in and wetting your shoulder in a driving rain.

They'll fit the earlier models OK.
