front drive shaft slip yoke

having a hard time finding replacement slip side to front drive shaft. 87', 4.0, man.trans. Seems i have a thicker shaft and splines than i can find around. does anybody know anything about this. haven't mic'd yet for exact dimensions but it is thick 16 spline. I have searched through 100's of shafts cant seem to find a match.
 
Dive shaft?

Pull the whole drive shaft from a 4.0/AW4 and be done with it. There is no reason to try some mix and match thing when you can just replace the drive shaft as a unit.

'87 with a manual and 4.0 doesn't even show up on the chart I have... I'll see what I can find and report back.
 
OK, this is odd. OP can you verify your specs?

I'm not finding that '87 - 4.0 - Manual combo anywhere.

Might want to just measure the collapsed length of the shaft you have and compare it to this:

The actual spline section is much thicker than normal as well as the neck down

My 88 MJ has (or had) 4.0, BA/10, 231AMC. I had it around after my AW4/TC swap. I'll look in my pile o' parts and see if it's there...stay tuned.

It's about 4-5" shorter than the 1994 AW4/231J combo.If I find it, it's yours to play with.
 
Start looking at Ford's, dodge's and chevy front/rear slip shafts ... The current stock jeep stuff is small diameter 16 spline slip ... The truck shafts will be a larger diameter 16 spline slip. It's possible given the age that either it was a swap or just an oddball shaft.
