2 door seat lock broken

Hey there everybody...I'm pretty new here and this is my first post. So I'm picking up a 94 two door and the passenger side front seat release lever won't lock the seat back in place. I kinda don't want the seat back flipping forward if I hit the brakes too hard so does anybody know how to resolve this problem? Any advise is greatly appreciated. Thanks...Stefan

It sounds like your spring is broken. I would take the seat cover off the top part of the seat or the part that tilts forward.

worst case, you can replace the tilt assembly, its only 4 bolts or so
