I am putting in bastard system in my TJ that did not have original hardtop rear defogger wiring. I have the center dash factory switch holder with the factory setup. I am soon going to ditch the original dash cluster for Autometer gauges so the PCM style timer in the dash for hardtop rear defogger will gone. Here is what I did:
- 4 wires 18 gauge wirescome from the stock switch
-black - ground
-orange - dash lights/dimmer
-Blue/red - 12v switched ignition (+)
- Blue/green - relay/sense - assume it went to stock dash timer
I have tested the wiring and have functional dash lights -orange/black OK
I have tested the other 2 wires and have conductivity -
I insert the plug into the new Mopar switch and do not have power out? I replaced the old switch today with a brand new one.
What is the function of the switch? I have the YJ red TRW rear defogger relay with the built in timer I planned on using but no signal out? What am I missing?
