Manifold Air Temperatures- What is yours?

For those of you with scan tools, What is your MAT? At idle? At cruise? Under acceleration? Thanks.
 
Just note whatever temp you are at.

So tonight 70*ambient - 120*moderate acceleration, 148*cruise, 160*idle. That is N/A! Yikes!!
 
It's worth it IMO just to keep dirt, leaves, pine needles, etc. out of the airbox & filter. Spaced it on my drive tonight, but I'll jot down some numbers if I remember tomorrow.
 
Some temps from a good while back ... 2 to 3 minute intervals ... All highway tho .. :eek:

Looking at the temps ... It was before I fitted the latest tranny oil cooler ... and I must have just been leaving town.

Fan temps - are approx air temps behind the rad.

In case its relevant :confused: .... Stock setup apart from ....

2row copper rad,
10%eth-gly/90%water mix,
1/2" Hood hinge spacers with a central, induction air blocker ... so it vents at the rear corners only.
Tranny lines bypass rad,
Some oddball 195* t'stat that works better than a chrysler one.


Revs .. Amb ..... H2O ... I.A.T. .... AW4 .. Fan ....... mph

1400 .. 97* ........ 203* .. 172* ..... 150* ... 160* .... 30
2550 .. 97* ........ 201* .. 156* ..... 153* ... 140* .... 60
2480 .. 97* ........ 198* .. 151* ..... 153* ... 140* .... 60
2059 .. 97* ........ 199* .. 142* ..... 154* ... 118* .... 60

I.A.T. averaged 131* for the recorded time - of about an hour.
Tranny temps settled at about 170*

60* this morning, light city driving, some idling, some 2 lane blacktops and state highways. Posted speed limits, normal driving, temps are from the ScanGauge, Jeep fully up to temp before I started jotting down numbers. Cheap cowl intake/airbox mod, IAT in the stock location.

Idling .....95-105 ..... 200-204
City.......... 87-95 ..... 197-202
Highway..... 87-91 ..... 198
Accel.......... 81-87 ..... 198
 
Today 65* ambient, shot the intake manifold, fully warmed, idling = 180-200* on the surface of the intake manifold at different spots. Need some ceramic coatings, that exhaust radient heat is killing us.
 
With the IR temp gun, exhaust manifold was 620-650*!!
