Where can I get higher wattage bulbs?

I changed the Auto Selector & 4x4 console to a 164LL bulb. Way brighter then the cluster and the Climate control switches. Just wondering what other members have done. I was hoping that it was gonna be an easy drop in bulb. But don't think that's gonna be the case here.

Doesn't the bulb pull right out of the socket? Watch putting higher wattage bulbs into things...tends to melt stuff. Best source is the junkyard.

Might just go with a Neo3 LED and see what that looks like.

Can't help you with the higher wattage bulb issues, but if you want to extend the life of the bulbs you should never handle them with you bare hands. The oils from your skin has a tendency to create a hot spot on the glass, which causes the bulb to blow sooner than normal.

Napa has a book of the bulb sizes and alternate wattages. I think Phillips Lighting and Wagner have websites, too.

Be careful putting in higher wattage. I had a spare bulb laying around that I put in my transfercase shift bezel once, and it ended up melting right through the plastic.

Second on this. Go with LEDs if you want brighter or you too will melt your Heep.
