hit bump, lots of problems

I hit a bump in my 94 xj and now I have quite a few problems. it didn't want to really come to a stop after I hit the bump (driveway), it basically slid to one. now, when turning it on its idling really high (2.5-2.7k) in park and neutral. If I try to put it into reverse it moves but it jerks the whole car around as I put it into gear and feels faster than it should be (idles normal in reverse and drive though). I haven't tried to drive it because I don't really have room to without being on a semi-major road and I'm scared it won't stop again or I'll cause some kind of accident.

where should I start? again, this all started when there was a extra hard hit of a bump

Start by doing a detailed inspection of the suspension, steering and brake system components up front, then inspect the engine mounts, front and rear.
