Nick(redjeep2.0) and I met up with Dave (glueNtape)and Justin(?) yesterday, for short trip up to Lolo pass to get a taste for some snow, let the kids play etc..
Gassed up in gresham, I was on gas light.. and it only cost $80! I cant remember the last time that happened! normally its a full bill!

after turning onto Lolo pass road off hwy 26, we were met with slick conditions immediately..

about 3 miles up, we let the kids out to play.. Unfortunetly i didnt have a camera, so no pics of dave's kids sliding down the hill on sleds.. (sleds optional..haha)

after letting the kids play for the better part of an hour.. we decided to continue on

I asked him what he was doing up there, and he insisted he had the top of the line snow tires with a locking diff, he didnt think he would get stuck.. i handed him my winch hook and got my self anchored to nick..

after getting him out, i handed my tire deflators to him..
Nick, justin and myself all got turned around easily.. but dave.. well.. i think he'll air down next time:laugh3:

at this point.. it was about 3p.. Dave and Justin needed to be back earlier then me and nick had planned.. so we went our separate ways.. they went back towards the highway, and we decided to try the 17 mile trek to Lost lake..

after about 5 miles.. the tracks ran out.. we started off a bit stupid, playing the sliding into the ditch game back and forth..

But then we started breaking trail going uphill.. we pretty much played tag team with plowing..
it started to getting deeper..and deeper.. until after awhile, it just got tiring.. 4lo and floored for 5 minutes at a time started to wear thin on the fun level.. we started loosing light and i just felt ready to give it up.

we turned around probably 3 miles from lost lake and headed back down the mountain..

Not a bad day.. left sandy about 10:30a.. and got home around 7..

It sure is nice to not be stuck all the time.. The difference from last year to this year for me AND nick is overwhelming.. This year is sure to be an epic one in my book..

Awesome pics looks like you guys had fun! About how much snow did you get into at the highest elevation? when we turned around it was high enough to touch it out the window.. so I would say 32-38"

I only aired down to 12psi.. If we would of gone down in pressure, we could of kept going, but with twin 2 year olds.. and it getting dark.. I was done
