Bypassing AC Compressor

I have a 1999 Cherokee Sport. The AC compressor is starting to make some noise. Couple questions:

1. Is the AC compressor rebuildable?
2. How can I run the Jeep while the compressor is off?

I am hoping there is a belt that routes without the compressor.

They're supposed to be a sealed unit.

The clutch may be all you need to replace.
If it's not frozen then just don't run the air (or defroster) till you get a replacement. If it is frozen then get a JY replacement. Probably cost less than a belt.

there is a bypass pulley that you can put in place of your AC so you don't have to get a new belt.
