Best year for Dana 60?

try 89 ford 3/4 ton truck axles :) they work well!
also you could use a ford 9" which doesnt require as much trimming... they are both huge axles and you need to cut them down to size or you will have a ton of rub..

he said a FRONT axle

if its for a k20 find you an axle out of a 77-89 1 ton chev or GMC it'll dang near bolt in.

An 89 ford 3/4 ton is a dana 50 twin traction beam, IIRC.

A ton of rub, on full widths, what are you talking about?

A D60 out of the same kind of truck would work best. So find a 73-87 1 ton GM truck with the D60. It will bolt right in.

73-87 will work great, but 88-91 will work just as well just make sure it is a 1 ton and not a 3/4 ton. Some times it is cheaper to buy the whole truck than to look for axles. I paid 1200.00 for my running 88 crew cab 1 ton with lockers f&r and new brakes and wheel bearing seals.

Why is he asking on an XJ forum then?

Can this thread be nuked? So many wrong things in it and it's not even for an xj.
