Ok, so I was out trying to diagnose a very intermittent problem with my rig dying after it gets hot and I let off the gas. The jeep runs perfect until I drive it, get it hot, then let off the gas. It dies and won't restart until it cools down, 30-45 min. One of my steps was to clean the idle air control valve. This is when it got ugly... I pulled off the iacv, cleaned it, and then proceeded to drop it. Wouldn't you know, it landed right on the plunger and cracked the plastic threads inside. Mistake #1. I went down to Autozone to grab a new one. I know, Autozone, mistake #2. Now the jeep won't start without me opening the throttle body and when I let off the gas, it dies. What the heck? Any suggestions other than don't EVER go to Autozone?
