Timing chain alignment - no mark on crank gear

97 4.6 with an isky cam and a scat 4.2 crank. I'm assuming the timing is stock because the shop that built it the first time had no idea that you could stroke a 4.0 and they didnt have the timing card for a custom ground cam. I can get it if that will change the answer to my question though.

My timing set only has a mark on the cam gear not the crank gear. I know the cam bolt, cam gear marking and crank gear marking are all supposed to be in a straight line, so can I set the crank at TDC and make sure the cam bolt, cam gear marking and crank bolt are in a line?

Or can someone show direct me to a picture that shows where the crank gear mark should be in relation to say, the crank gear key slot? Thanks in advance.

Can I align the cam gear with the cam and crank bolt axis with the crank at tdc or is that not quite it..

That should work. IIRC the crank key should point near straight up.
