Bad Noise

vsh

NAXJA Forum User
I have a concerning sound coming from somewhere under the old girl.
Sounds like gears rattling against one another when I am slowing down and there is no power to the drive line.
(clutch pushed in)
It has been somewhat intermittent.
I checked the universals and they are in good condition.
Have you heard of this symptom before?
I'm thinking it might be the t-case (NP231)?
Does anyone have any advice so I can troubleshoot this terrible noise.
I fear something is munched.

It sounds to my like the pilot bearing or the throwout bearing on the clutch. those are both spinning when the clutch is pushed in and ca rattle, especialy the throwout. i am no t sure on your tranny, but you will probably have to drop it to accec the throwout and deffinatly to acces the pilot. pm me fo r any specific help.
