I am in the process of getting tires for my jeep. This is my first offroad build and I am in the learning mode of all this offroad stuff..

Anyways I was looking at these for size and price, they seem to have decent reviews.

My question is does anyone on these forums run these or have ever run these and can make a comment on the quality, noise level on the streets, and offroad performance of these tires..

Well I was going to suggest the goodyear wrangles duratrac's but they don't offer them in the size you want. I did look at the site I bought the duratrac's from though and the tires you are looking at are cheaper and it is free shipping. Here is the link:

Sorry I could not help you out as far as opinions on this tire as I nor anyone I knot ever ran these but thought I would atleast help you save some money if you decide to go with them.

Also no experience with the hankooks here, but i do like my km2's. A bit soft if you do a lot of street driving though. I see you are in AZ, not too much mud there, what type of wheeling do you do?

In before the kevlar mtr guys show up

Idk if I would trust Hankook. Just look at reviews online, that's one of the best ways to figure stuff out. I personally would go with KM2s. A lot of people love them, they have a good life span of about 25k+ depending if you rotate, plus I see them on tons of competition rigs so that has to say something. Good luck!

Thanks for the input..

I was only thinking of these hankooks due to some magazine reviews (where is my salt).. I would rather trust the info from you guys on this..

Mostly rocks and loose gravel and sand...

Speaking from personal account of owning both, I prefer the Kevlar MTR's for a good all around tire.

My main reason is I just seem to be able to get more places with the MTR's than the KM2's (both before and after siping the middle blocks) ever got me. I've also managed to out-wheel several friends running KM2's with lockers (open diffs on mine) in mud, rocks, hills, combinations of that type of terrain, etc. Personally I think the noise is a bit less with the MTR's, but I've got loud exhaust and a louder stereo, so I'm not the best for noise judgement.

the hankooks are a harder compound tire than the km2s or mtrs. they will last a little bit longer, guys seem to like them in mud and snow. but they are pretty stiff and louder than the other major brand options.

I had a set of 35" hankook mt's on a fullsize blazer. They are a very nice street tire, probably the quietest and best riding mt that I have used, and that includes old mtr's, old bfg's and some others. Decent in the other aspects, but I think hankook was going for the street crowd rather than the offroad crowd.

They lost me with this line...

"The Hankook Dynapro MT is a little above a "middle of the road" mud tire that does decent in various conditions."
