So my dad has a 96' 5spd with ABS and the rear end has been howling for a while. So here are the questions:

Can I swap the ABS setup onto a non-ABS housing?

What years can I get an axle from that will work?

Any year, any axle. If it's from an XJ, it will fit.

Don't do another D35. Find a chryco 8.25". Cheap in the junkyards

Would I need to change anything besides U bolts, like brake lines and or parking brake stuff?

might have to change the driveshaft, how much lift does it have, if any? Yes you will have to change the ubolts.

You can put ABS on a d44 or an 8.25, there are writeups for each. fyrfytr1717 did the d44 writeup and I believe Talyn did the 8.25 writeup. I believe it is even simpler to put ABS on an 8.25 if you swap ZJ disk brakes onto it at the same time but I am not sure.
