Reading RPMs with no Tach gauge

Is there a way to read the RPMs in a RENIX-era engine if you don't have a cluster with a tach?

I know that there are two 'diagnostic' connectors right below the pressure bottle in the engine bay.

Thanks.

With the Split Second PSC1, I have to tap into the cam sensor output to get rpms. . .

are you looking for something permanent? if not there are inductive tachometer tools that clamp around a spark plug wire.
