1993 XJ 4.0 AX15 NP231 195,000miles
recently bought been tinkering around on it for a while getting it ready for some trails.
I have a slight rhythmic knock towards the rear that increases with RPMs, thinking flywheel. when i turn off engine i hear and feel a double thud right about where the flywheel is.
so far i have
-pulled plug wires one by one no change that i could hear
-fresh oil
-replaced plugs+wires
-replaced TPS
-replaced broken bellhousing+clutch slave should have replaced clutch and flywheel i know thats what you get for being cheap i guess
i have had others listen they couldnt hear it until i pointed it out so it is pretty faint. do you think it could be flywheel? if it was wouldnt you feel something when you shift?
at this point i really dont want to pull the tranny until i have to replace the clutch. any suggestions as to further trouble shooting?
