MJ AX-4 to XJ???

Im actually asking this for a buddy of mine, so ill see if i can get any extra info if you need any. He wants to know if he can bolt the AX-4 transmission from his 4 cyl 2.5l MJ on the I6 4.0l motor in his XJ that is currently auto? Can it be done? What needs changed? Any help would be greatly appreciated!! :viking:

and even if you can get the right bellhousing for it.

why?

the ax4 sucks (well its ok behind a 4 cylinder i suppose), and you can get an ax15 for super cheap

well pretty much just because he has it sitting around, so instead of buying one he was just spend a few bucks and make it work if he could. Plus it would be different.

it would not last long behind a I-6
