Ok I have a 86 jeep xj. I drove it a couple weeks ago. When I got home under the hood was smoking. So I checked it the next day and noticed antifreeze was pretty low. I pulled the alternator tested and it tested bad. My gauges don't work at all. I got a new starter relay. I noticed on the old relay that the ground wire was connected to the ignition side. Would this short out the alternator on the inside?
