What year is my motor?

The previous owner of my 89 XJ with 4.0 told me he replaced the motor with a lower mileage unit from the junk yard (can't remember if he said newer year model). I now need to get a new power steering pump housing and lines and know that I will need the year model to get the right ones.

Is there an easy/quick way to tell which year motor I have?

Ok, just to have the right fittings to thread into my steering box I guess? Are there any pump upgrades I could consider?

Will a 01+ V8 WJ pump and reservoir work in my 89 XJ?
