95 xj will shut off while driving and at idle. It started about 4 days ago and seems to be getting worse. Seems to do it more after the jeep has been running a while. Once it shuts off I can start it right back up each time.

I have done a little reading and I am going to check the ignition and distributor cap and rotor. I am heading to pick up a Crankshaft position sensor later today.

That crank sensor is a VERY likely suspect. They are prone to "THERMAL" (heat related) failure.

The other suspect for thermal fail is the ignition coil, but the crank sensor fails way more frequently.

Agree, test the crank sensor when it dies.

Crank position sensor. Especially if it starts back up after it dies. Easy fix, but big trouble. Be sure to coat the connector with dielectric grease when you put the new one on.
