i did some research and ordered me some upgraded red top 19lbs injectors for my 87 xj from the web site that has been recommend here. has any tried to install the later 91 and later fuel rail and regulator . if so did it raise the fuel pressure and help performance.everything i have read here that those injectors can make a difference in driveabilty. i have a k/n in the box and a throttle body spacer and getting ready to reinstall my header.

4.0 "performance" myths here: http://www.jpmagazine.com/techartic...iter_engine_myth_busting_true_lies/index.html

Replacing the single-pintle two-piece body OEM injectors with the Ford (Bosch) 4-hole disc type is an inexpensive "upgrade" that usually results in smoother idle/better throttle response. Adding in the rail/FPR should net you better performance--not that performance is an actual virtue of the XJ 4.0. A free flowing CAT back exhaust system would net you the most "performance" bang for the buck, and after that re-gearing gets you the most.

thanks for the links i'll check them out. i have a magnaflow hiflow cat and a series 40 flowmaster. regeared to 4.56 with 33,s. plain and simple the Renix ones are slugs compared to my 96 with the jetc controller .but every little thing helps.

the myth about the intake isn't true.. however you do need supporting mods to aid in the power gains.
