I just bought some lights for my 93 xj. Where is a good area to go though the firewall?

What kind of lights are we talking about here? Fog/driving lights?
As for the firewall, locate a grommet and run them through there.

If you don't want to drill a hole, you can tuck a wire through the grommet for the hood release cable.

Just run the wire parallel to the wiring harness going underneath the brake booster. There is plenty of room and it is well protected from water.
