when jeep is turned off brake lights come on?????

I have a 95 jeep cherokee. 4.0L automatic 4x4. i pulled the cd deck out the other day and put it back in an hour or so later..i was planning on switching decks but ended up not.

now when i turn the jeep off, lights off, keys out the rear brake lights come on and stay on??

any ideas to what is causing this?

The brake light switch CAN be adjusted a bit...or replaced... That's where I'd look.

My brake lights would come on just visible in the dark, couldnt even see it in daylight, was the switch.

Put your hand on the brake pedal. Run your hand up the brake pedal, you will find a thingy with wires attached--brake light switch. You will find it easy. :wave:
