I have a 90 cherokee with a 4.0 in it

I just changed the front hubs and now that i have it all back together the front passenger side axle is leaking. what can cause this?

Also when i put the jeep into drive there is a loud clunking sound. It does it when i put it into reverse also. what would that be?

It's good practice to do the hubs one side at a time, with a little angle from the jackstand. When you pull the axle shaft out, gear oil runs past the seal into the tube. Just stuff a couple rags in overnight, that should get most of the residual.

I'm gonna say you probably scored the seal upon re-installation of the axle if it's leaking a week later. It's normal to leak a bit, but not for a week.
