Rear drive line

Jackal

NAXJA Member #1341
I have a "96 Cherokee, with a Dana 60 rear. The problem I have is I need to add grease to the drive line about every 100 miles of highway driving to eliminate a vibration or shuddering that occurs when I ease off the gas peddle and coast. There is no play in the drive line when parked.
Any suggestions what may be causing this?

Check your u joints. Usually if you get a vibe on de celeration your pinion angle is to low.

Try using the parking brake (if any) and leaving the transmission in neutral before checking for driveline play. You may be surprised.

Check the "slip-joint" for play.
