I have a front main seal (vibration damper pulley) leak and am going to replace it this week since my radiator is coming off. My questions are, how hard is this to do? has anyone done this? Can anyone point me to a writeup? Will the chain stores have the seal? I am leaking about 2 quarts every oil change and would like to fix it. I am on spring break and am bored; perfect time to take care of the many projects on my XJ.
Thanks in advance

You need a harmonic balancer puller and some other basic tools along with the seal. Its kinda a booger to get back on there, but not too bad of a job. When you suspect your recent engine build is off time, then you get familiar with that job!

Be sure to have a CLEAN surface on both sides of the block and the Timing chain cover.
