Painting shock body...

I got a set of shocks pulled from my 96 that's been parted.

The shock bodies are rusty as Adam Lambert is gay. I'm going to wire brush them down to metal as the paint is already gone off them too.

What's the best way to paint the bodies so they're not just metal and get rusty again?

POR-15 would probably be best

I just used primer and paint, I think Rustoleum.

I'd just sand em down, and lay paint of them. They're used shocks to being with.

Yeah i cant see throwing por 15 on used shocks with who knows how much life left in them. Just sand and rattle can it.

rattle can primer (few coats) and paint (few coats) should be fine for a few years
