Shifting into Park

Sometimes, lately, when shifting into park, it wont go all the way. it goes to the "P" but cannot take key out. have to bring it down to reverse and back to "P" a couple times.

suggestions?


(btw, thanks for the other advise i've asked for in the past.)

There are two adjustments.

First, adjust your transmission shift cable.

Second, adjust the Park Lock cable that runs from the key cylinder down through the steering column past the ignition switch and to the transmission hump beneath the center console.

mine dose this too. if you take off the shift handle (just pull up firmly) and make sure that the plastic piece that goes down into the shifter pops up and if it does then there might be something wrong with your handle disengaging.
