Or whatever they call the shaft that goes between the lower column and the power steering gear.

Are rebuild kits available?
Are replacement shafts available?
Where do you buy them? I'm not having much luck with the NAPA and partsamerica web sites.

How about the lower column bearing?

If you want the Billy Bad A** intermediate shaft and have the coin. its at the bottom of the page of the link, Otherwise pick one up at the yard. they seem to last a long time.

If you go to the yard, note that the later ones (97-up) don't have the same fitting at the top, so they won't go on, although the bottom is the same. It's too bad, because the later ones telescope readily, while the earlier ones do not (they telescope when hit but they break internally). This means that you'll probably have to loosen the steering gear or the steering column to replace yours.
