I Will be making myself two sets of Lower Control Arms
And I need some help. One of My jeeps is a 2001 XJ 4x4 with no lift. The other is the same but 98.

1) What is the center of holes ? Is it 15 3/4 ?
2) What size and type of pipe to use at the bushings.
The middle pipe is going to be 1.25" Schedule 40 1.75"OD

I'll be using this bushing front and rear

And what size to use for the upper CA's

Dont use pipe and you will hate poly!

I realize the "I made those" factor is pretty cool, but your gonna have as much (or more)money in building a set as just buying a factory engineered/fabricated part. I'm not trying to knock your abilities or discourage you, but there are a ton of new or nearly new arms listed on here in the $50-$100 range. If you still insist on making them, make them adjustable.

other than this I can not find any thing cheaper

But I'm not making only one set. I'll be making both the lower and upper control arms for two XJ's.
And I do not thimk I can find that many part for anything near my cost of building them all myself.

I just do not know what the size of the DOM pipe is used at the bushing ?
I only need about 3-feet of it for all 8 control arms. So dose any one know the size I need ?

They have most everything you'd need to build control arms. Then go here, they can supply any size rubber bushing imaginable. A plus side to an OEM bushing would be local parts store availability http://eatonsprings.com/LeafSpringAccessoriesApplicationGuide.pdf

Just get bushing cradles from JKS or Rocklogic and use oem bushings, youll thank yourself in the long run!

I made these, and parts are $83 each plus tube. Currie johnny Joints and RE ends with Clevite bushing. You won't get better for the price.

Thats why I like female ends, threaded rod welds nice into tube.
