I made one for $12 instead of spending $200 on a name. I finally confirmed a fault I had a suspicion about. At speeds slightly over 10mph I can't get it to engage. I can hear the collar grinding on the axle shaft so I stopped pulling on the lever. I can understand why the vacuum disconnect breaks now. Now onto my question. Does anybody have a Posi-loc or homemade one and have the same problem? I'm wondering if I'm just not pulling the lever fast enough.

Never has a problem with mine, you do need to put the transfer case in 4WD 1st.

Well I put it in 4wd first then pulled the lever and wow it worked just fine. Thanks for the hint.

Here is my write up. http://www.arcticoffroad.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2891&highlight=2lo It has the parts and prices I paid. I didn't get exact pics while I was making it as my camera was broke. But I showed where to drill whole and such. The only thing getting changed is I'm going to put a stiffer spring in to make sure it disengages.
