9" solid spacer

Im about to finally install my gears in the 9", Ive searched foudn some good info, but nothing on the solid spacer that takes the place of the crush sleeve, Ive done installs before but nothing on a 9" thanks for your help

strange engineering makes them, and moser makes them.. I prefer a solid spacer to a crush sleeve any day.. I have made some for the 8.25 using 1.50" dom before.. Just cut it in a lathe and use shims to get the preload exactly right.. I run the Strange spacers in my 9"..

Sorry should have been more clear I already have the spacer just wasnt sure about setting it up, do you just trial and error

Start with all the shims installed and measure. Gradually take then out until your spcified preload is achieved. Or use the crush sleeve, then take it out and measure it and use that measurement as the starting point and fine tune with thin shims.
