I got a new Jeep and found out later that it is bored 40 over what does that change and how does it help. Does it mean I should change any other things to keep it running right. Thanks I am new to this.

it means that when it was rebuilt the block was bored to accommadate pistons .040" larger in diameter than stock. that won't require any special treatment, but you could brag to people with stock motors that you're running 5 cubic inches more displacement than they are. 
should be 247 now...4.046 litre or something.
