View Full Version : Reiter Trails Noob run. (Nov 5th)

October 19th, 2006, 22:09
I will be taking a group through sac-up on November 5th.

We are meeting at the main parking area at Reiter trails at 9:30AM.

This event is not NAXJA specific, this is open to anyone. Please come if you want to learn about wheeling, want to educate, or just want to wheel and have fun. Also, please be patient, I plan on this one trail taking the better part of the day.

Don't come if you are impatient and don't want to wait for anyone. Do come if you want to have fun. And I promise Vehicles in all classes will have thier limits pushed.

Any questions, reply here or PM.

Look forward to seeing you all on the trail.

I might be up for this one... I broke last time I was there.

See how the repairs progress. Driveline is off and Tom Woods says it's hosed...

I have exhaust to replace too. :)

Keep following HWY 2 East, until about mile marker 30. Take a left, thier should be signs pointing the way. When the road take a sharp left that you turn onto, keep going straight, trees on both sides. There will be a big open staging area on your left. Better directions avaliable though. :D

Sounds like my last Reiter report. Broke: Bent the tie rod (still bent)

Replace Exhaust: Cut mine off so I could get to some hard to reach spots when I was adding the rear skid. It wasn't even a year old, didn't like the bends, gonna order an aftermarket unit.

Moral to the story, I'll be there, it's been a while.

So if Isabelle is a 6 out of 10 what is Sac up? Also, I found this goofy map but don't see any of the spoken trails. I know I saw a bunch of beefed truggies out there for the clean up. I wanna see which trails those guys were running.

http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m111/mud1059/Reiter_2-9-03_2D.jpg

I think I liked reiter but my poor truck with it's 3.42 gears and 35" tires don't haul the jeep very well up hills. I can only imagine dragging it for 2 hours.

Sac - up is a 3 to 4 out of 10. Maybe even a 2 if you take all the bypasses.

The guys in the truggies were running trails such as Trail Of Doom, The Bonus Line, and Beat Your Shit (or "BYS" as we call it) You are more than welcome to show up the same day, and I can arrange an escort for those trails. Bring your winch or you can't play out there. 35" or bigger tires are also highly reccomended.

That map you found is from the Trials bikes. It is all motorcycle trails.

As for towing your Jeep from Sumner. Just think, it's all downhill from Reter to Sumner. ;)

Ya, most all the really hard stuff on sac-up has by passes around it. Though half the fun on a run like this is to stop and watch everyone try the harder lines. Half of those who try probably wont make it. But it sure is fun to watch them try.

KarlVP

UPDATE: because I have to, due to the powers that be. A simple request, IMHO

Required Equipment: Seat Belts for all passengers, roll cage or hard top, Front Tow Hooks, sunny dispositions. ;)

Reccomended Equipment: Fire Extinguisher, Front and Rear tow hooks, recovery strap (no metal hooks on the ends), first aid kit.

OK, So it looks like we are meeting for breakfast too. Here are some times Im putting out to meet up and such.

Any one coming from the south end(south of Auburn), I am going to meet you on the onramp of HWY. 167, at the Pacific-Algona exit. James I am meeting so far. Anyone else? I will be there at 0700hrs, and will depart around 0715hrs. It should take about an hour to get there from the exit, depending on traffic. At the cleanup, it took about that.

Then from there we will convoy to the Dutch Cup from the exit, Here (http://www.mapquest.com/directions/main.adp?go=1&do=nw&rmm=1&un=m&cl=EN&qq=hltF3hzNT9tNhURP0HLlhh9UYBmHRqyBceg4Gkon14D8uew Lk7pjHQ%253d%253d&ct=NA&rsres=1&1y=US&1ffi=&1l=&1g=&1pl=&1v=&1n=&1pn=&1a=&1c=pacific+&1s=wa&1z=&2y=US&2ffi=&2l=&2g=&2pl=&2v=&2n=&2pn=&2a=&2c=sultan&2s=wa&2z=&r=f), Arriving there around 0820hrs or so. I figure a good half hour, 45 minute breakfast, so from there, we can fuel up down the road, then be at Reiter at the time said.

Karl, I suppose we won't be hitting the trails at exactly 0930hrs? Probably more around 1000hrs?

So James, I guess were meeting a little earlier that previously discussed.

XJLaredo
November 2nd, 2006, 22:53
Well i guess so. Told the new woman about meeting you at 7:30 and about shit her pants("thats to early for a sunday"), I guess selective hearing is an issue since i told her last night EXACTLY what the plans where. So i will probably rollin solo.

But anyway, I should see you around 7:00am then.

Jamez.

When you get your Junk fixed let us know. I'm down for some Reiter Trails action any day of the week. And twice on sunday.

I've been known to go wheeling at Reiter all day, and then see people I know on my way home, gas up and get a truck stop burrito and head back out.

One time, I ran the same trail 3 times in a row with different groups each time.

FiFo
November 4th, 2006, 20:36
Ya, sac-up is going to be a blast tomorrow, I've got to get my camera batteries charged up, there is going to be plenty to see and do.

FYI. Expect it to take all day as it sounds like there is going to be a large group. Also it is wet, and muddy, so be prepared for that. I'm expecting to spend a good deal of time outside of my rig watching others attempt obstacles, and extracting others from situations they can't get out of.
