shinny paint

ok washed the jeep the other day and got some sand or grit stuck in the sponge and made some ugly spots in my paint i tried waxing over it and buffing... no success. :doh:

im no paint wizard so im wondering is there any thing i can do to correct these spots.

can i wet sand the factory finish? with lets say 1500?

I'd use compound on a polisher. Rent one if you need to. If you've already tried finish polish go to a higher grit compound.
