are leaf springs side specific?

just curious if they are. i made a bastard pack out of 2 sets of xj leafs and and the leafs i added were the top 2 off a spare pack. i only got the top two off the whole pack and the guy didnt know which side was which. just wondering if throwing leafs from a passenger side pack in with leafs from a drivers side pack and vice versa are going to cause the packs to not sit level. i thought that the passenger side was stiffer due to the transfer of torque from the motor or some shit.. just curious.
 
They shouldn't be. The OEM and Old Man Emu ones aren't, that much I know.

EDIT: if someone really heavy previously owned the car, or generally drives it, I might even be tempted to intentionally swap them so that the sagging gets evened out a bit after a while. I've seen some seriously lopsided cars due to excessively heavy drivers/passengers.
