89 XJ, expected behavior?

I have a 89 xj with th 4.0L. Couple things I noticed and just wondering if they are right or not.

1. Gas gauge fluctuates about 1/4 tank usually when going up or down hill
2. Side marker lights in front work, wondering if they are supposed to blink with the turn signal (dumb question I know...)

1- all older gas gauges on jeeps flucuate when going up,down,left or right or just fast

2- the side vertical lights are markers not blinkers so they dont flash, you can however make them blink if you wanna do a little wiring a write up for this can be found at gojeepxj.com

Other than that mud-dog27 is correct on both accounts (I too have an 89 XJ and have the same working condition)
