Oil pressure drop when clutch is depressed...

My pastor has a 97 wrangler with a 4 banger and manual trans. He says when he presses in the clutch to shift the oil pressure gauge drops and the light comes on. As soon as he lets the clutch out it jumps back up. Any ideas?

Check the end play in the crankshaft that will cause the oil pressure problem

So grab the crank pulley an see if it moves around?
