SnapOn Renix Scanner w/ODBII as well

If you still have it come the 15th I am totally down! I haven't run into anyone here in AK with one yet.

This has be removed from sale. Sorry.

In that case, there are a bunch of them on Ebay.

Old_man, which cartridge number made this one able to read Renix, was it the "Jeep1" cartridge? And did it read the TCU on Renix, or just the ECU?

Edit: I just found this using a search for Jeep-1 MT2500-49:

Looks like the jeep-1 MT2500-49 is the part needed with the MT-2500 to read Renix?

I wondering if there is enough interest in buying one of these as a Renix group, then let 5-90 hold it and use it for Renix ECU reverse engineering work, and have it available to loan back to us (the buyers), for 1-2 weeks (or a month if needed) at a time for troubleshooting work when we need it?

If 10 of us chipped in it would only cost $20-$30 each to get us a group loaner, that 5-90 could use for collecting Renix ECU comunication secrets until one of us needed it for a week or two (or month) of hard core debugging. At these Ebay prices, I could chip in on a loaner and buy myself one for safe keeping here.

three aren't that many secrets.....what do you want to know :D between Tom and myself i think we have everything covered....not to mention the rest of the renix nutz around here. and no scan tool other than the renix one from the renix ppl i have ever seen actually reads the TCU.

Interesting as the snap-on paper I just printed (in the list below IIRC)

http://buy1.snapon.com/products/dia...ticVCS(EAZ0025B01CRevB)/12 JeepOperations.pdf

claims it does read the Renix (AW4) TCU. So which is right?

IIRC, 5-90 wants to actually crack the Renix ECU binary communication code in an effort to someday be able to tweak the Renix internal control settings, directly in the program and or tables stored in memory, or on the fly, by doing things like changing table values, A/F ratios, and so on. Having a Snap on tool that actually communicates bi directionally with tweak test instructions might give him the clues he would need. Of course an original Renix scanner system would be better I suspect.

Who is Tom?

If true, that even the snap on does not really read the Renix TCU, I wonder if the Renix TCU is not a Toyota AW4 TCU in disguise? Or a version of it?

I need to fund some vehicle repairs so this is back on the market.
