I wanted to let you local guys know about my experience with this dealership.

On 11/19/06 i purchased a Jeep Wrangler on ebay listed by an auto broker on behalf of Fort Mill Ford. I called the broker and made a deal for this vehicle, they replace the cracked windshield and i'll purchase for the listed "Buy it Now" price plus the non-refundable deposit of $250 (brokers fee) due within 24 hours.

I completed the transaction and paid the brokers fee immediately via paypal. I contacted the broker again advising him i would be picking up the vehicle the monday after Thanksgiving. I was then informed by the broker i need to finish the transaction with the sales manager at Fort Mill Ford. I emailed the sales manager and a week passed without a reply. In the meantime i advised the broker of our intentions.

On the way down we finally get a call from the sales manager of Fort Mill Ford advising us there would be additional fees involved before pickup can be made. I advised the sales manager i had a valid contract for this vehicle and will give him cash totaling the buy it now price on ebay. He insisted it would be another $700 due before pickup would be possible.

I then called the broker again and advised him of the situation. He said he was aware of it and that he also was not happy about it. I then told the broker i had a valid contract and will be stopping by the closest state police barracks to have them escort me to the dealership so i can pick this up.

I get a call from the broker about 1 hour later. The dealer is going to sell the Jeep to the broker at wholesale cost and he will in turn resell to me for the agrred upon price through ebay. The broker advises me he will meet me at the dealership.

I arrive at the dealership and we get completely ignored. They refuse to give us the keys to inspect our purchase.

The broker arrives and he has to trailer the vehicle off the lot. The dealership refuses to issue us a temp tag so we can legally transport this vehicle home. We arrived with documentation that the vehicle is insured here in Pa, we had that done before our departure.

We were forced to drive this vehicle all the way back to Pa without proper documentation. All we had was a bill of sale from the broker.

I was advised it would be 3 weeks till we received the title. The title still has not arrived and were tired of waiting. The dealer held the title till 12/22/06 before mailing to the broker.

Fort Mill Ford is owned by one of the largest corporations in the business, Sonic. I'll never do business with them again. (n)

TY and I'm not surrised. Sonic is part of Hendrix's empire just in case you did not know.
