Just a heads up folks. I have been near death sick since march, lost 60 lbs (muscle atrophy) just laying in bed, went from 221 to 163, Could barely stand, extreme muscle and joint pain head to toe, could barely hold and use a fork to eat, went through stages, that finally was diagnosed and now treated for the final stage (started out as sinus infection and bronchitis), last problem was a hyperthyroid from a virus-cold infection late march (the antibiotics did nothing for it, the virus had inflamed the thyroid, making it release too much hormone)), now just being treated with a 10 day steroid dose this week, that has me dancing in the streets again (figuratively). Long term I should be 100% normal, and I will be 100% off any and all meds, so I am fireworks pumped from the news. No cancer, no tumor, doc says I will outlive everyone, LOL. :woohoo: Frankly I thought I was dying. I called and cancelled the appointment with the mortician this week, LOL.

Happy 4th people, I know mine will be!!!!

LOL, you have me dead to rights on that question :laugh3:

I was thinking cancer, god knows what. It was a bit on the rare side and I had to find a specialist, endocrinologist and run multiple tests, to rule stuff out, but everything came back as too healthy to be sick (my cholesterol was 50% of the high limit, LOL, I was so damn healthy) , except one thyroid hormone test was off...., I found out I have three females in the family with hypothroidism, so I went digging for more info, as one, my niece had gone through what I was going through for over a year before the doctors ever figured her's out. Then I asked the doctors to run the thyroid tests, bingo, we nailed it. I was lucky, as mine was just working too well, no tumor, no nodules, and it just needed a steroid chill pill, LOL.

I also had no insurance yet, and was freaking out on that too. Lucky for me I still have one 23 YO daughter living at home, that took care of me while I was down for the count, literally.

glad to hear you're doing well it's scary how these things can start out so simply

Yes it is scary, how easy it can sneak up on us. Just a pesky damn virus, can play hell.

Mike, glad you're feeling better. Gives you a hightened appreciation for the small things, like being able to sit up and take nourishment :D
