I have to admit that I spend a good deal of time scrounging stuff for my builds. Be it in a junkyard or in the recycle center on base I am hardly disappointed with what I find there. Just to give an example...I was at the recycle center today and looking through the metal dumpster for some steel to use in fabricating my bumpers and whatnot. Well, I guess I hit it on the right day,right time. I scored TWO HMMWV swing out tire carriers some unit decided to toss out!!! And while they are far to heavy to use in their present design... all the good parts like bearings and such are all there for me to hack up and re-purpose! And I did find some 2x4 rectangular tubing to use for the rear bumper too! *SCORE!*
