2006 LJ CAT?

A coworker of mine has a 2006 LJ.

Says his throttle response recently went down by quite a bit and he had Oreillys scan it and told him one of the CATs is clogged.

Does anyone know if this is a common issue on these? I've not owned a 4.0 this new.

Damn thing has 4 O2 sensors and 3-4 CATs!!

All California emissions XJ's are the same way.

It COULD be a clogged cat but I wouldn't count on an Oreilly's employee to be able to diagnose that with the cheesy computers they have.

What was the actual trouble code?

They of course didn't tell him that (he's not very mechanically savvy himself).

I just hate to see him spend $700 to replace most of the exhaust if he doesn't have to.

Stoopid emissions crap.

I told him to go ahead and get a 2nd opinion from another store just to see what happened BUT to make sure they let him see the scanner and write the code down.
